Moment to Momentum

“Get ready. Get set. Go.”

“Hey wait a moment, where am I going? Did I even want to go anywhere?”

“Are you Ready? It’s time. It’s time to set things in motion.”

“What do you mean motion? I’m still at the get ready stage. I’m not sure if I want to participate? Where did you say I am going? What is, set into motion. I don’t recall asking to move.”

“You are now, set? It’s time to remove all your resistance. Put yourself in the lineup and place yourself on the starting line.”

“What? What race am I in? I don’t recall putting myself here in this predicament? Hey wait a minute, I need more time to figure this out. I can’t find my momentum. Stop the race, I’m not prepared!”

“There is no preparation needed. It’s just the moment and momentum. This cannot wait you know, it needs your attention now. Are you ready?”

“No, not yet, oh maybe? Hey I do recall asking for something, is that what this is? I can’t tell you if I’m ready but I can try. It’s only a trial run, maybe I can get a better picture of what I can do. Yes I can do this. Where’s my helmet, my gloves? Momentum? Or is it just moment to moment.”

“I’m going to give you the green light, just remember if you forget the momentum just push yourself.”

“Wait one more second, I don’t feel very safe right now. It’s all to new to me. Are you sure you have the right person?”

Is it time.

Wait, where’s my momentum? Where’s my moment.

The House on the Hill

The house on the hill was always there until it wasn’t.

I saw it yesterday, or was it the day before? It stood there big as life, her colours shone thought out as the sun shone brightly on her windows.

I could see her soul.

The pathway is still there if you go by. It’s uncleared but if you try hard enough you can get through. I still can’t figure out what they did with the house?

Remember the time we snuck up there and peeked into he windows? We thought we would find a witch or something ghostly. A cauldron in the living room making a brew to turn us into cats or mice. How foolish we were. We only found her baking cookies or singing those songs we loved to hear.

I thought I saw her yesterday outside tending her garden. She grew such beautiful roses. The smell, remember the smell? You can still see them now in your mind. Do you know I said hi to her once?

But the house, it is gone. Destroyed by a unknown. No one really knows when it happened, it just did. There is only a foundation left, if you want to go look?

I can see her now. Can you? She is waving to us to come up and see her. Do we dare?

I know she’s gone. I know I don’t want to believe she is. So sad to have her taken away. Why did they take her house down? People are so funny that way. It isn’t haunted, but only if you believe it is. I see her, do you?

She walks this earth as a being of light. I saw the candle she holds up to her others walk their path. Kindred we are, so many of us.

I saw her only yesterday, it seems like a long time ago, I loved her.

Attitudes are just desires awaiting thought.

Platitudes come along and make reference to the thoughts that share space.

If we only not thought that this is the way then there would be more to think about.

Forget the choices you always make. Compare the thoughts with those that are rare and unique. Be wise and sometimes think but do not speak.

It is wise to do so. Feet in the mouth are just stinky.

” Good morning old friend. Check me out, Yes it’s me. You didn’t recognize me.”

“Oh, it is you. I didn’t recognize you in that new attire? You changed.”

“Changed? Oh my clothes, yes they are new, well new to me anyways. I saw them in a consignment store, yes they do look good. I didn’t think this would look good on me. I took a chance.”

“But I liked you the way you are, not now but yesterday. I could recognize you, now not so much. You have changed. ”

“Of course I am still me. Just because I change the outside doesn’t necessarily mean anything. It’s a new look, a new feel good me. Hey touch me. What about you? Do you need a change? You can be different yet the same. You can change and reach new goals. Believe that everyday is a new day according to you. Believe in the new person inside. Wake up look different, see different, make changes that you value but never saw you in before. Yeah, like a change of clothes. You can be who you value yourself to be.”

“No, I don’t think so. I think I can only be this me. It’s comfortable, accessible, I know who I am. You know yes, sometimes there are others inside, some that know a different path, a better path but they confuse me. Strange to feel that way. I like having recognition, being accessible for the me that has always been. I don’t think I need to revalue my difference, when difference can just be the same?”

“I thought that too. I always feared change. It brought new values, new challenges, new things into my life. I could never see the person you see now. This person you say you don’t recognize. It’s me just a different me. One that can choose something else with out fear. I can now change things in my life that seemed so hard to accomplish. Hey, it’s ok. You look sad, don’t be. Sometimes losing a part of yourself is a good thing. It brings about a new adventure. Retraining yourself by new values, new ideas. Just think it and you can be it. It’s like reassembling old parts, cleaning them up and a new paint job.”

“I get it. People see you as something new, not necessarily unavailable. You are still that same face, that same unique person. I see now.”

“Yes I am. Revaluate, recalculate, reinvent. It’s becomes exciting to try new things.”

The mirror shown a light on the subject looking into it and reflected a new attitude, a newness which was then evaluated, reaccessed and happily accepted. The mirror saw that the man in the mirror would make it another day.

Laughter Is The Best Medicine

Laughter is the best medicine. It doesn’t come in jars, bags or in pill form. It’s the best kind of instantaneous gradification without rules or redemption. It is yours for the taking whenever, wherever you want it to be. All you need to do is let go and see how ridiculous we are in our undertakings. How unruly we become for no reason. Laughter is the best in all situations.

Laughter dulls the pain, it heightens awareness, it brings joy to the pain of internal thought. Laughter heals.

A word, a thought said quietly inside, a joke unreveiled, laughing inside. Heart, mind, soul doesn’t matter, is what matters most to the internalizing the joker.

Roll around in the dirt of your mind, sensing the ironic sense of it all, then laugh. Cry in laughter, soul search the remenents of the joke played on you because it doesn’t matter. Really it doesn’t. It can’t for your sake. It may hurt in the moment but upon realizing it, it only mourns the changes coming. Change is the biggest joke of all, you can’t stop it, it comes so why not let it come with laughter.

Bizarre actions, costumes, wrinkled noses all because of laughter. Medicate often, medicate always.

Death is one last joke on us. Birth is a new idea, that we can give to our children. Be seriously happy, never grumpy about life. It’s seemingly obsurd to believe sadness and misery can get you there faster than a good laugh. Be the one to start it, be the one to end it. Laughter is yours to indentify, it controls the fear, releases the anger, destroys and conquers the mortality of the situation.

Mortals we may be but laughter makes us infalable. We cannot be beaten when we laugh, fears cannot lay us flat and anger cannot kill the good in all of us. Simplicity and purpose, laughter and sanity all go together in one good joke.

For the joke is on us. We created what we are and we can recreate it with a smile, a belly laugh and a realization we are all human.
